I thought it smelled funky in this classroom...

Take a look at the awesome activity that going on in Joy Killough's classroom.  Her students are measuring cells from an onion to see whether the cell size changes when the onion has been dried out.  First the children look at the cell structure for the piece of onion under the microscope and take a picture of it with a still camera.  They use the software Image J to measure the cells.  Then they take the same piece of onion, dehydrate it, and take another set of pictures under the microscope, and use Image J to see if there is a difference.  When I first entered the room I thought the smell might just be stinky teenagers after gym class.  Turns out I was witnessing a master lesson for technology integration.  What an amazing activity!
