Today, Mrs. Hovenkamp's career and accounting classes got the privilege of learning from accounting professionals from the seats of their classroom. Unlike traditional speaking arrangements where a speaker comes and presents to the class, she set up all of her speakers through Google Hangouts--or video-conferencing Web 2.0 style (without the cost).
It was a win-win for all parties involved. In fact, it was so successful, that more speaking arrangements will be conducted through Google Hangouts now.
Students were entertained, asked relevant questions, and got the benefit of a working professional in-house!
